Weekend Evaluation: I Just Want To Make An Omelet

This will be the last Geico reference for now - I promise.

We moved this weekend, so we were busy - but I was able to make an omelet.

I did overbuy at the farmers market - but all of the vegetables showed up, broccoli, green beans, corn (isn't it too early?).

 - Cipollini and Tomato Omelet -
Positive - Tasted pretty good.  Was just looking to be able to handle the lack of counter space in the new place.

Negative - The tomato was just OK, and I probably under seasoned a little bit.

 - Penne w/ Chard, Corn and Fennel -

This is the first real meal I cooked in the new kitchen; wanted to keep it easy since we were tired and busy from moving and unpacking all weekend.

Positive - I was trying to take a relaxed attitude to cooking and not get stressed out.  This tasted pretty good; braised the fennel in some duck stock; finished the dish with some red wine vinegar and dill.

Negative -  I should have added more parm. and vinegar to the finished dish; plus I'm out of extra virgin olive oil.  Need to get to Mediterranean Foods as soon as possible.

Not much in the CSA - I guess some woodchucks got to the lettuce; but we did get the first delivery of our grain, bean, and coffee share.

Swiss Chard
Cipollini Onions
