Airing of Grievences: This is a Cooking Demostration, not a Photo Shoot for Your Blog

Went to this yesterday - and after every chef did a demo there were 12 people (there were only 20 there) lining up to take pictures of the plated food.

Before the demos even started a whole lamb was brought out (Carlo Mirachi was going to break it down, but ran out of time), and half the audience got up and stood right in my way; and why was I the only one with a notebook?

Winning more points in my book was Carlo Mirachi of Roberta's - who after Peter Nilsson's demo went up to the table and started eating the food while all these jerks were taking pictures.

Roberta's might become my new favorite restaurant; after I wanted to hate it....well, the aesthetic is still kind of BS and the wait staff sucks; but then the food shows up and it tastes great.

They just need a slightly better beer program - it's not bad, but not great.

  1. Personally, I like photos and find them useful. I tried to describe the squid ink/shrimp dish, or the dog food dish, and photos would have been helpful.
